Job Summary

In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors, the Senior Cancer Registry Tech is responsible for chart abstraction and follow-up as well as maintaining registry compliance with regulatory standards established by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (COC).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Completing and/or coordinating QA functions (physician and peer review)
  • Data requests and report writing
  • Submits required datasets to OCISS and the NCDB
  • Serves as liaison to internal and external customers related to registry functions
  • Provides orientation and training for new staff and non-certified registry personnel
Requirements:
  • High School graduate; Associate's degree in Health Information Management preferred
  • Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) required
  • At least five years experience with cancer registry chart abstraction preferred
