Job Description

Role: Senior Data Test Engineer, ETL/Data Tester/Big Data

Location: Remote

Duration: Long term

Responsibilities:

Develop test data scripts based on ETL mapping artifacts and other technical documentation.

Execution and detailed analysis of test data scripts

Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status.

Documents all problems and assists in their resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test data scripts to validate data inputs and compare data outputs.
  • Analyze ETL mapping documents to identify data transformation requirements.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, strategies, and test cases for ETL components.
  • Utilize testing tools such as ALM and JIRA to track and manage test results.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 years of relevant work experience in testing backend applications primarily involving complex SQL queries.
  • At least 7 years of experience in testing Big Data and Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Advanced level of expertise in Database testing (data cleansing, transforming, mapping, data validation) with excellent PL/SQL skills.
  • Ability to create and execute test plans, strategies, and test cases for applications that use ETL components.
  • Experience planning, writing, executing tests as well as preparing test strategies.
  • Experience in using testing tools such as ALM and JIRA.

Critical Skills:

  • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously and produce high-quality products.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information, understand complex topics, and arrive at sound analysis and judgment.
  • Should be a good team player.
  • Experience testing Waterfall / Agile Development Projects.
  • Keeps abreast of current technology trends.
  • Familiar with application development best practices.
  • Well-versed in the use of Microsoft Office Tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge on how to use Tidal and Postman is a plus.
