Lead Construction Inspector

GENERAL SUMMARY
Utilize extensive knowledge and technical expertise to interpret industry standards, specifications, and regulations. Proactively recommend actions to ensure compliance with all relevant requirements. Identify and address issues related to work quality and progress, making informed decisions that involve collaboration with customers, contractors, and company personnel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain effective communication with field supervisory staff to achieve project goals.
- Coordinate construction activities with relevant company divisions.
- Oversee assigned personnel and ensure adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and project timelines.
- Delegate tasks and clarify authority limits.
- Ensure compliance with governmental regulatory permits and right-of-way easement provisions during construction.
- Assess extra work requests and secure necessary approvals from management.
- Recognize and address unusual project challenges related to quality, progress, or financial implications.
- Provide administrative support for all field contract services.
- Stay informed about project personnel activities related to public relations and documentation.
- Make informed recommendations on matters requiring consideration and escalate significant issues to management.
- Confirm completion and transmission of all required documentation per company procedures.
- Implement measures to minimize environmental impacts during construction and enforce company environmental policies.
- Foster collaboration with quality control staff and contractor representatives.
- Adhere to and enforce safety regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the pipeline or construction sector, including 2 years in pipeline construction quality control.
- Experience supervising quality control in pipeline construction and related facilities.
- Familiarity with company policies and procedures for major construction projects.
- Strong judgment and decision-making capabilities.
- Effective human relations and administrative skills.
- Understanding of regulatory codes governing pipeline construction.
- Ability to interpret specifications and construction drawings accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying construction and contractual information.
- Knowledge of environmental impact mitigation strategies related to construction activities.
