The School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook University is seeking a full-time clinical-track faculty member to join the Department of Periodontics and Endodontics.

About the Position

We are looking for a highly qualified individual to teach pre-clinical, clinical, and didactic courses in periodontics to dental students and periodontics residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive educational programs in periodontics
  • Support the school's compliance with best practices and demonstrate growth in pedagogical skills and scholarship
  • Participate in school governance and serve on select committees
  • Engage in the school's affiliated faculty practice
Qualifications
  • DDS/DMD degree from a CODA-accredited dental school/college or international equivalent degree
  • Certificate from a CODA-accredited Advanced Education Program in Periodontics
  • Board Certification or eligibility by the American Board of Periodontology
  • Possess or be eligible for a New York State Dental license
  • Experience in interdisciplinary patient care
Preferred Qualifications
  • Didactic and/or clinical teaching experience at a CODA-accredited dental school/college or hospital setting
  • Advanced degrees in a related field
  • Record of research and/or scholarly activity
  • Participation in organized dentistry
