Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapy Supervisor to join our team at Spaulding Hospital North Shore. As a key member of our rehabilitation services team, you will be responsible for supervising operational and clinical responsibilities, participating in quality improvement and program development activities, and providing consultative services to clinicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise team members to achieve stated goals for performance and provide performance feedback integrated into performance evaluations.
  • Provide patient care as per Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist job description.
  • Manage patient satisfaction and productivity goals, identifying gaps and implementing improvement plans.
  • Mentor therapists to achieve professional standards of practice per network and facility policies and procedures.
  • Develop staff clinical expertise to meet the needs of the persons served and manage clinical staffing to meet departmental needs.
  • Manage person served issues, concerns, and complaints appropriately and uphold PCC Organizational Values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities
  • Manage full-time, part-time, and per diem clinical staff, including physical, occupational, and speech therapists.
  • Work with leadership team to meet fiscal year revenue and volume targets as proportional to direct staff reports.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or SLP program.
  • 3 years of diverse and well-rounded clinical experience, preferably concentrated within the clinical specialties of the program.
  • Previous supervisory experience in one of the following capacities: supervisor, clinical instructor, or supervisor of therapy aides/assistants under the guidance of a therapist supervisor.
  • BLS required and current license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts by the Board of Allied Health Professions.
Skills
  • Computer proficiency required, with Microsoft office applications preferred.
  • Problem-solving skills for treatment planning and execution, taking into consideration patient age, psychosocial, and cultural background.
  • Advanced skills in teaching others and self-assessment of learning needs, strengths, and professional goals.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and interact with patients and families using the theories of human growth and development, family systems, and cultural background.

  • Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and contribute as a member of a team.
  • Anticipates challenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them.
  • High level of service delivery, with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations.
