Faculty Group Practice Clinical Histo Tech I

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Histology Technician I to join our team at NYU Langone Health. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing tissue specimens for pathological examination, performing routine histologic procedures, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare tissue specimens for pathological examination, including accessioning, grossing, wrapping, and embedding procedures.
- Perform routine histologic procedures, such as section techniques, special staining, and slide documentation.
- Train in the use of new laboratory equipment and help maintain laboratory equipment.
- Prepare solutions required for histological examinations.
- Associate's degree from an approved clinical laboratory technician program.
- High school degree with designated experience and NYS license through the grandparenting pathway.
- Six months of experience in a histology laboratory.
- Certification by the NYS Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Certified Histological Technician.
- BS/BA in Science.
- American Society of Clinical Pathologists certification as a Histology Technician (ASCP HT).
