Job Overview:

Digital Prospectors is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in upholding the technology framework, ensuring the smooth operation of both academic and administrative systems. The IT Support Specialist will oversee and deliver extensive support for a variety of technologies, which encompass computers, audiovisual systems, network connectivity, and software applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the setup and upkeep of technological equipment.
  • Oversee the technology infrastructure, including internet services, telephony, and digital displays.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance for audiovisual equipment and classroom technologies.
  • Manage the Husky ID Card machine and associated devices.
  • Record all activities in the enterprise ticketing system.
  • Deliver Tier I and Tier II support to faculty and staff.
  • Conduct training sessions on both new and existing IT systems.
  • Prepare and maintain technology equipment for faculty and staff.
  • Image and reimage campus computers while applying necessary updates.
  • Build relationships with faculty and staff to promote technology utilization.
  • Encourage global security awareness.
  • Serve as the primary contact for information security incidents.
  • Provide insights on enhancements to information security.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant policies and standards.
  • Implement and manage software solutions specific to the campus.
  • Administer enterprise systems managed by Global IT.
  • Ensure optimal practices are followed by end users.
  • Manage vendor relationships for Global IT SaaS products.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of experience in enterprise-level IT support.
  • Expertise in supporting connectivity, audiovisual systems, personal computers, OS X, and Windows environments.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook, and other Microsoft software.
  • ITIL, Mac, and Microsoft certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong dedication to exceptional customer service.
  • Experience with service desk applications and incident management systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to work evenings, holidays, and weekends as necessary.
  • Knowledge of information security best practices, such as NIST, is preferred.
  • Experience in supporting academic researchers is a plus.
