POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking qualified Environmental or Wetland Scientists, either part-time or full-time, who possess experience in wetland delineation, assessment, and regulatory permitting. This role will support our expanding ecological sciences practice in New York, engaging in a variety of public and private projects, including renewable energy initiatives, electric transmission, and commercial development. The selected candidate will manage multiple projects concurrently and may represent Epsilon at public meetings and workshops with various stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Conducting wetland delineations independently, along with vernal pool and rare species surveys, wildlife habitat assessments, and functional evaluations.
  • Assisting in the development of technical reports and environmental permit applications at both federal and state levels.
  • Performing site inspections, overseeing construction activities, and ensuring regulatory compliance for infrastructure projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in environmental management, regulatory compliance, or environmental consulting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Wetland Ecology, Wildlife Biology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and knowledgeable in GIS and GPS technologies.
  • Experience with wetlands permitting in New York or New England is advantageous.
  • Certification as a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or In Training (PWIT) is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The position may involve physically demanding fieldwork in various environmental conditions and may require travel, including occasional overnight stays. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and necessary documentation to work in the USA.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $72,500 annually, commensurate with experience. Epsilon Associates, Inc. reserves the right to adjust compensation based on relevant factors.
