About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join the StateJobsNY team as a Landscape Architect Trainee/Assistant Landscape Architect. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing plans, specifications, and estimates for landscape and site work projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement landscape and site work plans, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and departmental policies.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to coordinate landscape and site work with architectural and engineering projects.
  • Utilize software packages such as Microstation, InRoads, and HydroCADD to perform project work.
  • Prepare presentation materials and renderings for public outreach and stakeholder engagement.
  • Participate in the preparation of design reports, design guidance, and other written documents.
  • Review projects for environmental impacts and prepare associated documents to support environmental process determinations.
  • Perform occasional GPS data collection for wetland delineations.
  • Handle special assigned duties such as correspondence, interviews, and investigations.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's or higher-level degree in Landscape Architecture; or a Landscape Architect's license from any state or political subdivision of the United States.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and team members.
  • Proficiency in software packages such as Microstation, InRoads, and HydroCADD.
