Position Overview - Insurance Underwriting Support Specialist
As an Insurance Underwriting Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting the Underwriting team by managing and facilitating assigned accounts. This position involves comprehensive support throughout the entire lifecycle of renewal and prospective accounts, ensuring smooth operations from submission to expiration under the guidance of Underwriting professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct preliminary evaluations of risk and verify the completeness of underwriting documentation prior to review by Underwriters.
- Engage directly with Brokers to gather essential account and insured information required for thorough risk analysis.
- Utilize your knowledge of specific product underwriting guidelines to assist in the pre-analysis phase of submissions, preparing them for further evaluation during the quoting process.
- Assist in developing initial pricing structures, basic coverage options, quotations, and binder packages on behalf of the Underwriter.
- Work collaboratively with Underwriters, Brokers, Reinsurers, and internal teams to effectively manage the status and workflow of multiple accounts and tasks.
- Communicate account progress to ensure all outstanding requirements are met for policy issuance and premium collection.
- Calculate base ratings and apply necessary experience modifications as part of the underwriting package prepared for Underwriter review.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the status of various tasks owned by Underwriters, Brokers, and Reinsurers globally.
- Correspond verbally and in writing with both internal and external stakeholders, considering local languages and time zones to deliver exceptional service and meet client expectations.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in the insurance field is required, along with strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse groups. Proven abilities in prioritization, time management, and problem-solving are essential.
