Loan Servicing Representative/Specialist

Loan Servicers play a crucial role in providing ongoing support and services to internal stakeholders throughout the loan lifecycle, ensuring a superior experience for external customers.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and logistical thinking abilities, comfort with financial data and detailed documentation, exceptional customer service skills, and excellent written and verbal communication capabilities. Familiarity with loan management software and current relevant regulations is advantageous.

Compensation: $20-$22.25/hour, commensurate with job level and experience.

GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARY
Responsible for performing moderately complex loan servicing support and escrow functions through the following essential duties and responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist internal and external customers with escalated inquiries related to loans and/or escrow, including loan, tax, reserve, partial collateral releases, and insurance matters; prepare necessary correspondence and provide supporting documentation; perform appropriate loan and/or escrow account maintenance.
  2. Analyze and resolve loan and escrow servicing-related issues and customer complaints.
  3. Review, analyze, and reconcile various reports; identify, research, and rectify errors and inconsistencies.
  4. Maintain, monitor, and reconcile various bank-controlled accounts and remit funds accordingly.
  5. Acquire knowledge of and stay updated on pertinent regulations, guidelines, and bank policies; may act in a lead capacity within the assigned unit to direct workflow, review work of junior staff for accuracy and completeness, and assist supervisors with training.
  6. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To successfully perform this role, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Representative Minimum: Three years of experience in loan servicing, banking, progressively responsible administrative roles, or related fields; or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Relevant education and/or training may substitute for up to one year of experience based on relevance.
Preferred: Experience in customer service.

Specialist Minimum: Four years of experience in loan servicing, real estate, financial services, or related fields; or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Relevant education and/or training may substitute for up to two years of experience based on relevance.
Preferred: Experience in a leadership role.

SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to type 45 wpm and operate a 10-key calculator is required; proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software is necessary.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to apply basic algebra concepts and accurately read numbers.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions involving several abstract and concrete variables.
