Position: Licensed Child and Family Therapist (Focus on DHS and Relief Nursery Families)

Position Summary: The Licensed Child and Family Therapist is responsible for conducting Mental Health Assessments (MHA) for children referred by DHS in Benton County. This role involves providing mental health services to children aged 0 to 18 years and their families, managing a caseload of 5-8 children primarily focused on those in DHS care.

Clients referred by the Relief Nursery may also be included in this caseload as capacity allows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mental health assessments and deliver individual, family, and potentially group therapy.
  • Provide case management, care coordination, skills training, psychoeducation, referrals, and community consultation in various settings including home, school, and office.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and summaries for transfers and terminations.

WORK HOURS: 0.6 to 1.0 FTE (Monday-Friday)

Additional Duties Include:

  • Implement evidence-based and best practice therapeutic interventions.
  • Coordinate and perform MHAs for children in DHS care.
  • Ensure thorough and timely clinical and administrative documentation.
  • Participate regularly in individual and/or group supervision.
  • Adhere to professional ethics and standards.
  • Comply with OARS, ISSR's, and all contractual and regulatory clinical requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: A Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field that qualifies the candidate as a Qualified Mental Health Professional according to Oregon Administrative Rules.

Experience and Skills: A minimum of three years of experience working with children and families in a clinical or related environment, including applicable clinical internships and volunteer work. At least one year of experience with children aged 3-7 is required. Proficiency in computer skills and the ability to document services in an Electronic Health Record is essential. Candidates must be able to pass required background checks.

Licensure: Candidates must hold a valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Reporting Structure: The Licensed Child and Family Therapist reports to the Relief Nursery Program Manager.
