The Mill Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and structural parts in the Concentrator. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to perform preventative maintenance tasks, including identifying potential failures and making decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance tasks, including identifying potential failures and making decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.
- Inspect and troubleshoot machinery and structural parts to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Repair and maintain machinery and structural parts, including performing welding (Stick, Tig) as part of maintenance/repairs.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, pneumatic air tools, and small mobile equipment as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area and performing work area inspections.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years' experience in Mill mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Previous experience operating larger than twenty (20) ton mobile crane.
- Certified in welding (MIG, TIG, Stick, Arc).
Working Conditions:
This role requires working in a 24/7/365 operation and willing to work rotating shifts. The employee safety and health are critically important to the Company. Therefore, ASARCO LLC requires employees to have and effectively demonstrate good working knowledge of modern safety systems.
