Community Greening Coordinator

Join us at TreePeople and play a vital role in shaping the future of urban forestry in Los Angeles. As our Community Forestry Associate Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing projects expanding tree canopy in Southeast Los Angeles. With your expertise in urban forestry principles and project management, you will help us achieve our mission of inspiring individuals to take personal responsibility for the environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team and contribute to making a positive impact on the community. You will be responsible for developing and implementing programs to expand tree canopy coverage, recruiting and training community volunteers, and supervising a team of urban forestry positions. Your ability to communicate complex information and build relationships with stakeholders will be essential in this role.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement programs to expand tree canopy coverage in high-need areas.
- Recruit, train, and supervise community volunteers on tree plantings and care.
- Train and supervise TreePeople's Southeast Los Angeles Community Forestry team.
- Manage day-to-day operations, including oversight of the Community Forestry team.
Requirements:
- Strong foundation in urban forestry principles and best practices.
- Experience with staff supervision and project management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with local climate and water resilience issues.
