This role involves developing and implementing personalized treatment plans to enhance clients' functional abilities and improve their overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Perform comprehensive evaluations to assess clients' physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities. Identify impairments, functional limitations, and goals for therapy.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and client goals. Utilize evidence-based practices to guide therapeutic interventions.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Provide direct therapy services, including therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and activities aimed at improving motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive functions.
- Client and Family Education: Educate clients and their families on adaptive strategies, the use of assistive devices, and techniques to support daily living skills and promote independence.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and physicians, to ensure a coordinated approach to client care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of client progress and treatment plans.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing education and stay informed about advancements in occupational therapy to ensure high-quality care.
- Community Engagement: Participate in community outreach and educational activities to raise awareness about occupational therapy services and support local health initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Valid Arizona state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
- Certification: Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred.
- Experience: Experience in a clinical, school, or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
- Skills: Excellent diagnostic, therapeutic, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Technology: Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant technology.
