We are seeking a Magazine Layout Specialist to become a vital part of our design team. This role requires an individual who thrives in a collaborative environment yet is equally comfortable working autonomously for extended periods.

Our layout specialists are characterized by their methodical approach, efficiency, and productivity, enjoying a structured workflow that operates seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design layouts for multiple magazines each month utilizing hyper-local content provided by our editorial team.
  • Modify publications according to pagination guidelines set by the Associate Layout Director.
  • Ensure all layouts adhere to City Lifestyle's established branding and layout templates.
  • Complete tasks outlined in the Proofing Round Checklist for each assigned magazine.
  • Implement proofing edits and final revisions by accurately interpreting feedback while maintaining high design standards.
  • Select web images for articles to facilitate smooth online uploads.
  • Export magazine covers for print production.
  • Fulfill all tasks on the finalization checklist to properly package and archive native files.

Job Requirements:

  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign.
  • No prior experience is necessary, but a skills assessment will be conducted.
  • Residency in the Kansas City metropolitan area is required.
  • This is a full-time, remote position with equipment provided.
  • Overtime exempt.
  • Occasional travel to onsite cultural events may be requested.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • No travel is required.
