Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a key member of the interdisciplinary team at MedStar Health, delivering patient-centered rehabilitation nursing services to individuals with a disability and/or chronic illness to attain and maintain maximum function.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients in adapting to an altered lifestyle, while providing a therapeutic environment for clients and their family's development.
- Design and implement treatment strategies based on scientific nursing theory related to self-care and promote physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, psychologists, physical and occupational therapists, speech therapists, wound and ostomy care nurses, social workers, and case managers.
- Provide compassionate care to patients and family members, working in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing.
- Active LPN license in the District of Columbia and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
- New graduates considered based on student clinical experiences.
