Position Overview:
The Language Services Interpreter plays a crucial role in facilitating communication between patients/families with limited English proficiency and healthcare providers. This is a part-time position with working hours from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 2 PM.


Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver precise interpretation services in both social and informational contexts.
- Uphold a comprehensive medical vocabulary and fluency in both English and the target language.
- Manage the appointment schedule for both internal and external interpreter resources.
- Accompany patients to external appointments when necessary.
- Recognize and apply cultural nuances to meet the participant's needs.
- Diligently maintain interpretation tracking documentation.
- Coordinate with agency interpreters for site appointments.
- Contribute to achieving team and site objectives by engaging in administrative and operational tasks as required.
- This role may involve responsibilities that necessitate wearing a face mask, requiring a proper seal. The incumbent may need to ensure that facial hair does not obstruct the mask's fit.


Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, along with a Certified Medical Interpreter designation from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in both English and the target language, with strong verbal communication skills.
- Preferred experience of 0-2 years in a healthcare interpretation role.
- Experience with elderly populations is a plus.
- Competence in office software, particularly MS Office.
- Willingness to travel locally as needed.
