Job Summary

The Department of State Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Cook II to join our team. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and serving of meals for patients in our psychiatric healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Oversee the cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen facility and equipment to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of our patients, while also ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with our dietetics team to ensure that meals are prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Monitor and control food costs to ensure that we are operating within budget.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in a healthcare or food service setting.
  • Experience with menu planning and food preparation for large groups.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
