HQ Aero Management Inc. is seeking an experienced Aircraft Metal Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our avionics installation team, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing metal components, repairing and altering aircraft sheet metal, and performing other related tasks.
Responsibilities:- Fabricate and install metal components, including avionics panels and related substructure.
- Repair and alter aircraft sheet metal, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with techs, engineering, and management to design and plan installations, particularly with regard to metal-related component placement and methodology.
- Modify existing instrument panels or fabricate new panels, and install other hardware to support and enable aviation electronics systems.
- Perform corrosion control processes on parts prior to installation.
- Ensure installations are done in accordance with procedures described in the company's FAA Repair Station Manual and FAA Regulations.
- Minimum of two years of work experience in a general aviation aircraft modification/completion shop performing sheet metal, aircraft structures, and fabrication work.
- Preferred experience: at least five years of successful performing sheet metal, aircraft structures, and fabrication work.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college/university degree or two years of accredited schooling in structures, metal-working, and/or composites preferred.
- FAA Mechanic/Repairman's Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant Ratings preferred.
- Passion for aviation, learning, innovation, and achievement.
- Self-motivation and ability to work primarily in a self-directed way with minimal oversight required.
- Ability to operate hand tools, CAD/CAM CNC systems, riveting, and related metal-working tools.
- Ability to plan and execute metal work as part of an overall aircraft project.
- Superlative ability to achieve aesthetically-pleasing and functional solutions.
