Role Summary:
As the Senior Project Manager, you will act as the technical authority for project design execution. You will manage all design-related activities and serve as the main liaison for clients. Your responsibilities will include ensuring design excellence, fulfilling the agreed-upon scope, and achieving project goals, requirements, timelines, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical expert in various areas of mechanical engineering.
- Oversee and mentor assigned engineers, offering technical support, training, and guidance to junior staff.
- Conduct necessary calculations, modeling, engineering assessments, and code research.
- Perform peer reviews and maintain quality control over the design team's outputs.
- Manage project schedules and plans to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery, adjusting staffing and resources as needed.
- Facilitate internal and external client meetings, ensuring all action items are tracked and completed.
- Coordinate project efforts with all stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and subcontractors.
- Work alongside the VP to respond to client RFPs and develop proposals, contracts, cost estimates, and budgets.
- Build and sustain strong client relationships to retain existing clients and attract new ones through referrals.
- Ensure precise project accounting, including setup, monthly invoicing, and accounts receivable, adhering to accounting standards.
- Engage in industry conferences, business development initiatives, and promote healthcare and sciences marketing activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Must possess a Professional Engineer license.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in the healthcare, hospital, or laboratory sectors.
- Familiarity with NFPA 99 and FGI Guidelines for Hospitals and Outpatient Facilities.
- Proficient in load analysis and energy modeling software such as eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR, and Carrier HAP.
- Experience in executing design projects using Autodesk, Revit, and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Knowledge of the USGBC LEED Rating system is advantageous.
- Exceptional time management and communication skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension).
- Understanding of local, state, and national code requirements.
- Working knowledge of electrical, controls, structural, civil, and architectural disciplines.
- Experience with construction requirements, scheduling, trades, and OSHA regulations.
- Extensive experience in managing and coordinating multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong technical writing capabilities and the ability to create presentations and reports.
