We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Resource Specialist to join our team at Smithfield Foods. This role is responsible for managing and coordinating the production of all assigned swine units, ensuring the financial and production performance of our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate production of all assigned swine units, ensuring optimal financial and production performance.
- Develop and implement plans to improve farm performance, including evaluating animal health and implementing biosecurity measures.
- Monitor and maintain animal movements, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for market sales, sort loss, and standard deviation from company finishers.
- Develop and train farm managers and employees on production and procedural compliance.
- Participate in the Environmental Management System (EMS) and ensure compliance with all environmental laws and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work an average 45 hour week with an average 9 hour workday, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to utilize math to calculate performance for production and financial performance.
- Verbal and written communication skills to include making presentations to groups of various size.

Must be able to frequently climb over, under, and around penning, walk and stand on concrete for 9 to 12 hours per day, and lift up to 100 lbs on a limited basis.
