Position Summary
The Culinary Team Member is responsible for preparing meals in accordance with established recipes and adhering to health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
The primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Executing daily preparation tasks and food production.
- Ensuring that all food is prepared according to company standards for portion sizes, cooking techniques, and quality.
- Properly handling, storing, and rotating all food products.
- Following appropriate plating and garnishing techniques for all dishes.
- Contributing to the development and innovation of menu items.
- Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Washing dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment.
- Keeping kitchen stock organized at line stations to facilitate efficient service.
- Receiving stock deliveries from vendors and assisting with inventory management.
- Properly closing the kitchen and following the closing checklist for all stations.
- Adhering to the club's dress code policy.
- Participating in all staff meetings and training sessions.
- Demonstrating a commitment to the club's success by providing excellent service and maintaining positive interactions with all staff and guests.
- Completing additional tasks as directed by management.
- Maintaining regular and punctual attendance for all scheduled shifts.
Qualifications
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge.
- Understanding of safe food handling practices and procedures.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Previous experience (2-3 years) in food preparation and cooking is desirable.
- Certification as a Food Handler is required.
Physical Requirements
- Visual and auditory abilities to read documents, operate a computer, and communicate effectively.
- Standing and walking for 75-100% of the workday.
- Occasional climbing, stooping, squatting, and kneeling.
- Dexterity for using kitchen equipment and tools.
- Ability to lift items weighing over 25 pounds.
