Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Cardiovascular Imaging Technician include:

  • Preparing patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Reviewing patient medical histories, positioning patients appropriately, and preparing testing sites as necessary.
  • Interpreting and documenting test results, identifying errors, and taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitoring patients throughout the procedure and reporting any significant changes in their condition.
  • Ensuring the readiness and proper functioning of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications

Required certifications and credentials include:

  • BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
  • One of the following credentials is required:
    • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
    • Certified Cardiographic Technician from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
    • Radiologic Technologist certification from the appropriate Florida authority.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Educational requirements include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with two years of relevant experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or four years of applicable experience.
