Job Description

A top private equity firm, Hueman PE Talent Solutions, is seeking a proactive and analytical Director of Finance to join their team. This individual will work closely with the CEO and senior leaders of the organization to generate insightful analysis for operating efficiencies, cost and profitability analysis, and bank relationships. Strong people skills and the ability to motivate and manage our finance department of three direct reports are essential. This individual will engage in close collaboration with other department leaders to drive strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis and data-driven recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee all financial reporting and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Proactively pursue data and financial analysis to provide insights and recommendations to company leadership, including product profitability analysis, margin analysis for pricing optimization, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Financial Flash Reporting: Maintain financial and operational flash reporting and assist in monthly reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts, including the preparation of the annual budget at a granular level.
  • Pricing Models: Develop and maintain pricing models to evaluate the financial impact of pricing strategies and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • ROI Analysis: Assist in modeling for ROI analysis on business investments and provide support to the CEO for capital allocation decisions.
  • Market Evaluation: Partner with product management, marketing, and sourcing teams to evaluate the financial viability of new product initiatives and market entry strategies.
  • Industry Trends: Monitor industry trends and the competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
  • Operational Support: Collaborate across business units to provide support and insights to enhance the operations and performance of the business.
  • M&A Support: Support M&A activities through financial, operational, and strategic due diligence and integration planning.
  • Financial Relationships: Manage relationships with financial institutions and external stakeholders.
  • Financial Controls: Ensure robust financial controls are in place and continuously seek to improve financial processes and systems.
Requirements:
  • CPA Certification: Desired
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in mid-size business accounting, financial statement preparation, and financial planning and analysis, preferably within an e-commerce or retail environment.
  • Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
  • ERP Systems: Strong background and knowledge of ERP systems and the ability to operate within business management systems.
  • Amazon Experience: Experience with Amazon marketplace financial strategies and analytics preferred.
  • Private Label Experience: Experience working within a private label or direct-to-consumer (DTC) brand on Amazon preferred.
  • Amazon Seller Central: Strong expertise in Amazon Seller Central, including knowledge of Amazon's advertising ecosystem (PPC), and inventory management preferred.
  • Tools and Platforms: Familiarity with tools such as Amazon Analytics, Helium 10, Jungle Scout, or similar platforms.
  • Supply Chain Logistics: In-depth knowledge of Amazon FBA operations and supply chain logistics preferred.
  • Leadership Qualities: Self-starter seeking career advancement, driven with long-term goals and a strong work ethic.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communicator with the ability to effectively convey thoughts, findings, and recommendations.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strategic thinker with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
