Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Customer Service Representative to join our team at Waste Connections. As a key member of our customer-facing team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our clients, resolving customer disputes, and providing support for our proprietary operational systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide support via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Operational Support: Work closely with other departments to resolve customer disputes and become proficient in the use of proprietary operational systems.
  • Contract Management: Fill out contract forms, determine charges for service requested, collect deposits, and prepare change of address records.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrate effective use of software applications, including MS Word and Excel, and maintain proficiency in these tools.
  • Customer Interaction: Deliver services to customers in a manner that promotes goodwill, interact with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine service requirements, and resolve problems or complaints.
  • Team Support: Cover for the reception desk when necessary and provide support to other team members as needed.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
  • Work Environment: Work in an office setting with a clean, ventilated, and well-lit environment.
  • Physical Demands: Spend long periods sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen, and may experience repetitive and stressful work due to high call volumes.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years of customer service experience, with experience in MS Word, Excel, and email preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent organization and communication skills, ability to analyze and solve problems, and typing and 10-key skills required.
