Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dining Facilities Assistant to join our team at The Terraces at Bonita Springs. As a key member of our housekeeping staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our dining facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties to ensure the dining facilities are cleaned and sanitized, following daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
  • Operate dish machine and pot sink according to standard procedures.
  • Transport clean small wares to their proper storage place and assist the chef in washing, peeling, and cutting food.
  • Sweep and mop all hard floor surfaces during shift and clean up spills.
  • Keep all storage facilities clean and organized, following scheduled cleaning assignments.
  • Inform the Sous Chef or their designee of any janitorial items needed to complete the job.
  • Set up dish machine and fill pot sinks.
  • Wash dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, and pans.
  • Maintain areas in a clean-as-you-go condition and check trash cans continuously.
  • Return clean dishes and pots to proper storage areas and sort silverware frequently.
  • Sweep and mop all floors in the kitchen, server, and service areas.
  • Break down dish machines and clean them, and clean and organize pot sinks.
  • Keep dish and pot areas orderly and clean.
  • Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for customers, staff, and residents.
  • Practice all safety, emergency, and loss prevention procedures.
  • May deliver take-out orders to residents and respond to fire alarms and assist in evacuations when needed.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, attend departmental education, and maintain confidentiality of resident/family and facility information.
  • Cooperate with staff of other departments when needed and represent the organization through professional demeanor and attitude.
  • Provide quality customer service in all interactions with residents, guests, and staff.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; may be working toward high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a minimum of sixteen (16) years of age.
  • Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instruction.
  • Provides quality customer service in all interactions with residents, guests, and staff.
  • Good communication skills and ability to get along with others.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and patience and work as a member of a team.
  • Good personal hygiene to comply with department of health practices and regulations.
  • Ability to read and understand information about proper cleaning products and use them correctly in order not to cause danger to themselves or others.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work well with others, including staff, supervisor, residents, families, volunteers, and the public.
  • Able to operate dish machine and garbage disposal.
