Job Title: Director of Operations

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations to join our team at Great Wolf Lodge. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence across all functions, outlets, and attractions of the lodge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Guest Services, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Aquatics, Cub Club, and Retail Departments to ensure seamless delivery of exceptional guest experiences.
  • Collaborate with Directors to achieve human resources objectives, including recruiting, selecting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining efforts.
  • Communicate job expectations, plan, monitor, appraise, and review job contributions to drive employee engagement and performance.
  • Ensure departments adhere to all policies and procedures, maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy environment for guests and employees alike.
  • Contribute to strategic plans, prepare action plans, implement productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, resolve problems, complete audits, identify trends, determine system improvements, and implement change.
  • Maintain financial objectivity by yield management, forecasting requirements, assisting in preparing an annual budget, reviewing scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Enhance customer confidence by maintaining service levels, garnering repeat visits, and making the resort a family tradition.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Lead by example, accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Train and retrain employees, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional guest experiences.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in hospitality at department/division director level.
  • Minimum 2 years of developing and implementing annual budgets, forecasting revenues and expenses, and generating plans to meet expected margins.
  • Leadership experience in 2 or more relevant functions/departments across the business.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Open to relocation to multiple Great Wolf Lodge locations.

Salary: Estimated $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
