Construction Project Internship Opportunity

Pacific Building Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Project Intern to join our team. As a Construction Project Intern, you will work closely with our project management team to support overall project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and managing project documentation, including subcontracts, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Support the development and updates of master project schedules, including reviewing look-ahead schedules with superintendents.
  • Coordinate and provide assistance to field supervisors, ensuring smooth execution of on-site activities.
  • Assist with permit applications and ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Review and verify submittals for accuracy, adherence to project specifications, coordination across trades, and constructability.
  • Proactively identify potential issues by managing and anticipating project needs two weeks ahead, facilitating solutions to avoid delays.
  • Ensure compliance with all contract terms, legal requirements, and community regulations where the project is located.
  • Administer client-specific programs such as Landlord/Site Rules, Safety, and Security protocols.
  • Assist in managing changes to project scope, ensuring document control processes prevent rework due to outdated information.
  • Oversee punch list items and project closeout to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Coordinate schedules and efforts with internal work groups, vendors, and client departments.
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Foundational understanding of construction methods and techniques, particularly in commercial and institutional building projects, including associated site work.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, and other relevant software for project documentation. Familiarity with Primavera P6, Timberline, Prolog, Procore, or similar tools is advantageous.

  • The Construction Project Intern will earn between $20 and $25 per hour, depending on experience and educational level.
