Senior Event Manager Job Description

At ITA Group, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Event Manager to join our team. As a key member of our event management division, you will be responsible for coordinating the operation of event travel and virtual event programs for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to internal teams to ensure deliverables are met, budgets are balanced, and client needs are anticipated and aligned to their vision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize external relationships with third-party suppliers.
  • Develop and implement training programs and learning labs to enhance the skills of Event Managers.
  • Work on complex, international or new business programs and opportunities.
  • Manage event performance, planning, and results, including financial management and onsite management.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement and ensure compliance with processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Liberal Arts, Public Relations, or Communications.
  • Five years' experience in the event management industry in a position of similar accountabilities and responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage details.
  • Ability to handle numerous projects, prioritize workload, and delegate responsibility.
  • Experience in effective communication and relationship building skills, business writing, and client presentations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles with experience in preparing and assessing financial budgets and profitability.
  • Experience in negotiations in a business environment.
  • Excellent human relations skills with the ability to be flexible and sensitive to people's needs.
  • Ability to think and act in a proactive manner, with a willingness to try new ideas and challenge the status quo.
  • Ability to travel up to 25-30% of the year.
