The Manufacturing Engineer is a key member of our production team, responsible for supporting production needs, leading large capital projects, and developing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Production Support
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to support production operations
- Develop and maintain process flow charts and facility layouts
- Analyze current processes to identify safety and efficiency improvement opportunities
- Project Management
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews to establish standard and custom product designs
- Develop and communicate manufacturing standards for new product launches and project initiatives
- Review and approve engineering prints and specifications for optimum manufacturability and cost
- Mechanical Design
- Analyze existing mechanical designs for technical understanding and comprehension
- Design fixturing, tooling, mechanical components, and assemblies
- Take ownership of mechanical design from project scope through completion
- Process Development
- Initiate and participate in departmental or company strategic programs to improve cycle time, safety, quality, and cost
- Aid the quality department with audit action items and quality issues associated with manufacturing
- Continuous Improvement
- Participate in team-based continuous improvement projects
- Self-direct a continuous improvement mentality for daily tasks
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a comparable discipline
- At least 3 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, preference to AutoCAD and Inventor
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and software (Minitab / Cpk & Ppk)
- Communication Skills
- Possess strong team, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organize data into presentations for the team and management
- Ability to generate operator instruction sheets, quality alerts, and clear communication forms
- Problem Solving Skills
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish factual points, and communicate analytical decisions
- Must possess a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
