Overview

Utah State University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Service Representative to join our dynamic team. As a key player in maintaining our campus environment, you will be responsible for ensuring every corner of our campus shines with cleanliness and functionality.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain floor coverings, including carpets, rugs, and hard floors.
  • Restock restroom supplies, including toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
  • Maintain building lighting, including replacing light bulbs and ensuring fixtures are clean and functional.
  • Handle trash and liners, including emptying trash cans and recycling bins.
  • Dust furniture and equipment, including desks, chairs, and machinery.
  • Clean windows, walls, and doors, including removing dirt and grime.
  • Clear snow and ice from exits and ramps, ensuring safe access for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Manage repair work orders, including reporting maintenance issues and coordinating with vendors.
  • Follow supervisor instructions and take direction from senior staff members.
  • Assist in stocking cleaning supplies and maintaining inventory levels.
  • Ensure equipment care and safety, including performing routine maintenance and reporting any issues.
  • Support part-time staff training and development, including providing guidance and feedback.
  • Perform assigned miscellaneous tasks, as needed.
Qualifications
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment, including vacuums, carpet extractors, and burnishers.
  • Ability to understand chemical cleaning applications and methods.
  • Ability to identify maintenance problems that require attention from repair personnel.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six months of commercial cleaning experience.
  • Skilled in decision making, problem solving, conflict resolution, team working, attention to detail, and dependability.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to learn through observation and hands-on experience.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions without close supervision.
  • Aptitude for performing cleaning responsibilities as assigned.
