Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at KinderCare Education. As a Culinary Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals for our children, ensuring that they receive the fuel they need to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks that meet the dietary needs of our children.
  • Order food and supplies, and manage inventory to ensure that we have the necessary resources to provide high-quality meals.
  • Dispense and store medication, as requested, and complete timely and accurate documentation according to KinderCare and other licensing or regulation requirements.
  • Support the success of our centers by partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with food safety and handling procedures, and the ability to implement methods of food cross-contamination avoidance.
  • Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare sufficient quantities of food for our center population.
  • Basic math skills required for measuring and calculating serving portions.
  • Possession of a Food Handler's License or willingness to obtain.
  • At least one year of institutional cooking experience, with food ordering experience highly desirable.
  • Two or more years of experience working with children, highly desirable.
  • Physical ability to use a computer with basic proficiency and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents.
