Position Summary:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Quality Technician to be part of our Manufacturing Quality Engineering team, located in Arden Hills, MN. This role reports directly to the Quality Manager and is crucial in supporting all Thermal products at Colder Products Company (CPC).

The Manufacturing Quality Technician will take the lead or participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing product and service quality. This position will collaborate with a Quality Engineer to oversee and manage product non-conformances.

This role is pivotal and highly visible, initially focusing on supporting capacity, product, and process enhancements within the Thermal business unit while also driving efficiencies within the Quality team and boosting customer satisfaction with CPC's offerings.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Thermal initiatives in Quality.
  • Lead, train, and manage sorting, reworking, and various actions through component/product dispositions.
  • Organize and maintain quarantined materials.
  • Respond promptly to production non-conformances, driving initial testing/evaluation and coordinating communication with the Quality Engineer, Production, and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Provide direct technical responses to manufacturing challenges.
  • Conduct product testing to identify performance deficiencies.
  • Implement corrective actions to rectify product or service shortcomings.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers, Production, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure thorough investigations and corrective measures.
  • Utilize CPC Quality and inventory management systems (Oracle).
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence projects.
  • Stay updated in the field through internal and external education and training.
  • Serve as the QA liaison in cross-functional projects and represent CPC to suppliers/customers.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and demonstrate support for Colder's core values.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Effective technical communication skills across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Capacity to prioritize and multitask in support of engineering/manufacturing projects.

Preferred:

  • Two-year degree or certification in a technical field.
  • Experience with metal machining and/or plastic injection molding processes.
  • Familiarity with medical device and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of inspection methods, tools, and practices.
  • Experience with ERP software.
  • Participation and certification from ASQ.
  • Detailed knowledge of CPC parts or equivalent.

Proficient in MS Office; Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.


Physical Requirements:

Must frequently lift and/or move 10 to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, sitting is regularly required; use of hands and fingers, and talk or hear. Reaching is frequently required with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and/or stoop.
