KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to all guidelines for the marination mixture and ensure accurate product flow while comprehending the associated paperwork. Prepare necessary documentation and scales before the shift begins, and procure all seasonings and ingredients required for daily production. Monitor the duration of each batch from initiation to completion, providing updates to support staff regarding product requirements. Measure the temperature of the marinator mix and each batch processed during your shift, assisting with marination for other production lines as needed. Collaborate with process control to weigh product pieces per batch, documenting weights and recording any downtime within the department.

As a vital member of the team, you will engage in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. You will coordinate efforts to ensure adherence to B.E.S.T practices among all team members, participate in relevant team meetings, and promote strong collaboration on significant matters such as direction, annual planning, budgeting, and policy changes. You will take responsibility for identifying areas lacking cohesion, bringing them to the attention of the team leader, and working collaboratively to resolve issues while seeking ways to enhance synergy within the broader organization.

Familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies) is essential. You will understand the importance of maintaining awareness of these systems and your role in supporting them, including recognizing the impact of individual actions and the responsibility to communicate concerns and suggestions for improvement.

This position description serves as a guide for the activities of the Marination Specialist and is not intended to restrict the creativity and problem-solving abilities of the individual in this role.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: You will be required to stand for the entire shift, with the ability to stoop, extend arms, push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds while working in varying environments. This includes occasional squatting, fine manipulation with hands, repetitive motion of shoulders, arms, and hands, as well as frequent twisting at the neck and waist, and reaching at various levels. The role involves constant walking, standing, bending, climbing stairs, and simple grasping, with the use of vision in a noisy environment around machinery.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE): Standard waterproof gloves, sleeves, hearing protection, slip-resistant footwear, safety glasses, and dust masks are required.

TRAVEL: Not applicable.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE: Certification for operating a pallet jack may be required.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience is preferred, particularly in poultry or food processing sectors.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Candidates must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, perform basic mathematics, and possess fundamental computer skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

COMPETENCIES: Strong communication skills and decision-making abilities are essential for effectively engaging with others and the leadership team.
