Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our healthcare team in Pinecrest, NC. As an integral member of our speech-language pathology team, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide therapeutic services to individuals with communication disorders, speech impairments, and swallowing difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct screenings and assessments under the direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions and activities as outlined in patient treatment plans.
  • Provide direct therapy services to clients, focusing on improving speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing skills.
  • Document patient progress, including session notes and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Provide education and training to clients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs and communication strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program or related field.
  • Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in the state of North Carolina or eligibility for certification.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting or working with individuals with communication disorders preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
