As a key member of the healthcare team, the Staff Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and economical use of medications for patients. This role involves verifying the accuracy of medication dispensing, evaluating physician orders, and monitoring drug therapies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the accuracy of drug dispensing and adherence to medical protocols.
2. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding pharmacotherapy issues.
3. Participate in the development and implementation of medication management policies.
4. Provide education and information on pharmacotherapy to physicians, nurses, residents, students, and patients.
Qualifications:
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree required.
• Current licensure in Pennsylvania or eligibility for licensure.
• Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
• Strong communication, time management, and conflict resolution skills are essential.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.
• Capable of lifting weights up to 35 lbs. occasionally and pushing/pulling weights as needed.
• Must be able to reach and use hands for grasping tasks.
