We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our Outpatient Pharmacy team at Penn State Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting pharmacists with the processing, preparation, and dispensing of prescription medications. You will provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, ensuring a positive experience in our outpatient pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists with the processing, preparation, and dispensing of prescription medications
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families
- Organize and manage stock to ensure smooth and efficient daily activities
- Professionally interact and communicate with medical and patient teams throughout the institution
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Six (6) months of recent experience in a retail pharmacy with educational background in medical terminology, sig codes, and computer use
- Previous customer service skills, patient interaction, and communication skills
- Previous third-party billing and computer experience, including prior authorizations, prescription refills, and inventory management
- PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certified Boards) required
- Compounding experience not required but recommended
