Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our Outpatient Pharmacy team at Penn State Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists with the processing, preparation, and dispensing of prescription medications. You will provide exceptional customer service to our patients, interact with medical and patient teams, and manage stock to ensure smooth and efficient daily activities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists with processing, preparing, and dispensing prescription medications
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients via face-to-face and phone interactions
  • Interact and communicate with medical and patient teams throughout the institution
  • Organize and manage stock to ensure smooth and efficient daily activities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Six (6) months of recent experience in a retail pharmacy with educational background in medical terminology, sig codes, and computer use
  • Previous customer service skills, patient interaction, and communication skills
  • Previous third-party billing and computer experience, including prior authorizations, prescription refills, and inventory management
  • PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certified Boards) required
  • Must pass a proficiency test with a 70% score
Preferred Qualifications
  • Compounding experience not required but recommended
