Key Responsibilities
  • Hazard Identification and Mitigation: Identify and eliminate all hazards associated with work tasks to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Equipment Inspection and Repair: Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of heavy equipment, including cranes, dirt equipment, and other miscellaneous heavy construction equipment.
  • Parts Procurement and Inventory Management: Read parts schematics to aid in ordering parts and materials, and maintain accurate records of inventory and requisitions.
  • Time and Material Tracking: Accurately track time and materials spent on repairs to be applied to Work Orders.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Continually maintain an organized and clean work area to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Process Improvement: Continually implement new ways to complete tasks safely and more efficiently.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience and Education: Five years of experience as a heavy equipment technician and/or a combination of technical education and mechanical experience.
  • Soft Skills: Consistently maintain a positive attitude, enjoy working in a team atmosphere, and effectively communicate with other members of the team.
  • Technical Skills: Be mechanically inclined, eager to learn via on-the-job training, and embrace the use of technology to complete work safer and more efficiently.
