POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Drafter will oversee the drafting framework utilized in the creation of all designs within the engineering division. This role will support various departments in establishing and enhancing the software extensions necessary for improved configuration and documentation management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Exhibit proficiency in mastering all aspects of 3-D modeling, drafting regulations, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Demonstrate expertise in SolidWorks and Pro-E Creo software.
Ensure the maintenance of software and/or hardware to optimize the performance of the existing CAD system.
Become well-versed in the current part numbering system and actively contribute to the enhancement of all technical documentation processes.
Master the existing Configuration Control System.
Assist other departments in the implementation of CAD communication tools to boost productivity.
Show the capability to manage and document the progression of assigned designs.
Possess strong technical communication and organizational abilities.
Exhibit intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Excel, etc.).
Create and uphold standard operating procedures and best practices for drafting and modeling standards.
Demonstrate the ability to conduct tolerance stack-ups (including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and perform basic drawing and design verifications.
Engage in regular Engineering Change Order (ECO) processing, including the preparation, submission, and drafting support of ECO documents. Be adept at using, modifying, and creating configurations in the Made2Manage ERP system.
Participate in cost-reduction and LEAN initiatives, providing support to various functional areas, including but not limited to Sales, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and Strategic Sourcing.
Assist Design Engineering as needed for processing drawing, process, and testing updates.

Qualifications:
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Associate Degree in Mechanical Design and Drafting.
A minimum of 2 years (5 preferred) experience in Design or Drafting.

Any acceptable combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) or more years (5 preferred) of progressively responsible drafting experience.

Or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to collaborate effectively with inter-departmental teams.
Experience with SharePoint is preferred.
