Red Rover Creamery is on the lookout for skilled pastry assistants to enhance our expanding workforce. We offer both full-time and part-time roles, accommodating weekday and weekend schedules. This position is not intended for beginners; we provide opportunities for advancement and support for professional growth.

Familiarity with daily production requirements and a minimum of one year of experience in a professional baking setting are essential. During peak seasons, the workload can be demanding, and availability for at least one weekend morning is necessary. Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehend all elements of the pastry and ice cream offerings and execute each component effectively.
  • Recognize the quality standards expected by Red Rover Creamery and make necessary adjustments to maintain those standards.
  • Independently carry out daily pastry production tasks with precision and timeliness.
  • Follow recipe protocols and techniques to ensure consistency and high quality.
  • Engage in cleaning tasks within the kitchen and customer areas.
  • Cross-train in front-of-house operations to assist ice cream staff as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness by ensuring every station is tidied after each task.
  • Support fellow team members as needed.
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with all colleagues.
  • Maximize efficiency in production areas and manage time effectively during shifts.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Approach all tasks with thoughtfulness and care.
  • Seek assistance when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • A high school diploma is required; formal culinary training is preferred but not mandatory.
  • At least 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation is required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Maintain proper grooming and hygiene standards.
  • Exhibit the ethical and professional standards upheld by Red Rover Creamery.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for a minimum of 40 hours per week, including weekends and some holidays.
  • Capable of reaching, bending, stooping, and frequently lifting up to 50 pounds.
