Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse

The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery. As a member of our healthcare team, you will coordinate and provide delegated basic patient care services, working collaboratively with registered nurses and other care team members to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and record patient information, providing individualized care based on patient needs.
- Provide direct nursing care, assisting with procedures, monitoring, and other functions as directed by physicians or registered nurses.
- Perform lab and procedural tests within the LVN/LPN scope of practice, after demonstrating competency.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitoring patient response and notifying providers as needed.
- Identify potential nursing problems and inform appropriate team members, escalating situations requiring care beyond the LVN/LPN scope.
- Reinforce patient education and provide accurate documentation in the patient medical record.
- Graduate of Vocational Nursing school.
- Current licensure as a vocational nurse or practical nurse in the state(s) of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- IV Certification, as mandated by state of practice.
