Senior Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Associate to join our dynamic team at Selby Jennings. As a key member of our real estate private equity firm, you will play a crucial role in the full life-cycle of real estate investment, from acquisition through asset management to disposition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential investment opportunities aligned with our firm's strategic objectives.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze market trends, demographics, and economic indicators to support investment strategies.
  • Due Diligence: Perform financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence for potential acquisitions, ensuring alignment with our investment thesis.
  • Investment Materials: Prepare investment materials and presentations for internal stakeholders and investment committees.
  • Deal Negotiation: Assist in negotiating terms and structuring deals with sellers, brokers, and partners, upholding our firm's high standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Transaction Coordination: Coordinate with legal and financial advisers to facilitate transaction closings efficiently.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor performance of the portfolio properties, analyzing financial performance against projections to ensure value creation.
  • Value Enhancement: Collaborate with property management teams to implement value-enhancing strategies that reflect our firm's commitment to excellence.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular performance reports and updates for internal stakeholders and investors, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and proactive communication with all parties involved in transactions and asset management.
  • Asset Disposition: Develop and execute strategies for the sale or recapitalization of assets, maximizing returns for investors.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in real estate private equity, investment banking, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and analysis (Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in real estate software (e.g., Argus, CoStar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
