Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Pathologist Assistant to join our team at Ector County Independent School District. The successful candidate will provide speech and language services to special education students, working under the direct supervision of a Certified Speech and Language Pathologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech impaired students, developed by the supervising speech language pathologist.
  • Therapy planning and preparation of clinical materials.
  • Conduct/participate in speech and language screenings.
  • Maintain clinical log of therapy sessions for each student served.
  • Collect data.
  • Bill Medicaid for services provided to eligible students.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Education and/or supervising SLP within the scope of practice.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (in the area of Speech Pathology preferred).
  • State License for an Assistant in Speech Language Pathology issued by the state of Texas, or be eligible for a deficiency plan with Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) to be completed in the school district.
Working Conditions

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
