Position Details:

We are in search of a skilled and knowledgeable Senior Property Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This permanent role offers a unique chance to advance within a leading market firm. You will be instrumental in managing the financial aspects of our extensive property portfolio, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting, and delivering strategic insights to foster business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Property Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing the general ledger and ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
2. Conducting monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations to maintain accurate reporting and ledger integrity.
3. Processing accounts payable efficiently, ensuring all payments are correct and authorized.
4. Preparing and submitting tax filings at local, state, and federal levels.
5. Analyzing financial statements for discrepancies and reporting significant issues to management.
6. Reviewing and suggesting improvements to accounting systems and procedures.
7. Leading internal and external audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
8. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls.
9. Providing detailed analyses and explanations of all financial transactions.
10. Preparing budget forecasts and assisting in the annual budget preparation.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Property Accountant role should have:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
2. Over 5 years of experience in property accounting or a similar role.
3. A solid understanding of account reconciliation, general ledger management, accounts payable, and tax preparation.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
6. Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
7. Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
8. Capability to work independently, manage complex projects, and meet deadlines.
9. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
10. Proven leadership qualities and the ability to drive and manage change.
