The leading distributor of wine and spirits, M.S. Walker, is in search of a dedicated individual to join our dynamic manufacturing facility as a Manufacturing Operations Specialist. This role involves the safe and effective management of machinery and equipment, which includes tasks such as uncasing, case packing, sealing, coding, labeling, palletizing, and warehousing of our products.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.
Incentives:
- Bonus structure: $300 after 30 days, $400 after 60 days, and $500 upon union membership (approximately 4 months of service).
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to consistently achieve daily production targets.
- Safely operate machinery related to cold fill bottling and packaging, including uncasers, unscramblers, case packers, and palletizing equipment.
- Document production metrics and quality control assessments on daily logs.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment through effective housekeeping practices.
- Utilize powered equipment such as forklifts and manual jacks as necessary.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to address equipment issues.
- Manage inventory within the label room.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and company policies.
- Implement quality control measures and understand line qualification standards.
- Follow OSHA standards and comply with safety regulations.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in manufacturing, packaging, or warehouse settings.
- Strong understanding of bottling operations and inventory management.
- Familiarity with packaging standard operating procedures.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to work in varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification.
- Attention to detail and strong multitasking abilities.
- Valid driver's license (required for forklift operation).
