Podiatrist - Foot and Ankle Specialist

Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited four-year podiatric medical education program and attainment of the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) Degree
  • Preferred: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute care setting
  • Preferred: At least one (1) year of experience in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
  • Must possess a valid New York State Podiatrist License
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Position Overview

The Podiatry Department's Professional Staff is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing conditions affecting the foot. The scope of practice includes, but is not limited to:
  1. Management of bone injuries, including fractures, as well as tendon and soft tissue issues
  2. Addressing foot complications arising from systemic conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, HIV/AIDS, and cardiovascular diseases
  3. Treatment of bacterial and fungal infections
  4. Management of skin and nail disorders
  5. Evaluation and treatment of benign and malignant tumors
  6. Correction of congenital and acquired foot deformities
