We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at WDF Inc., a leading specialty mechanical contractor in the New York metropolitan area. As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest levels of quality associated with delivering a completed construction project.
Key Responsibilities:- Expand and develop standard operating procedures and processes to achieve the highest levels of quality.
- Assist with the creation of project-specific Quality Management Plans and verify implementation of the plan for each project.
- Manage a team of Quality professionals to execute administrative tasks related to reporting site evaluations, quality reporting requirements, and site-specific quality planning.
- Conduct random site evaluations, including follow-up evaluations to ensure corrections have been made to deficiencies.
- Create mechanisms for sharing best practices and quality issues across project teams and among all quality personnel.
- Act as a resource for field operations with compliance on Federal and State regulatory requirements as well as local quality regulations.
- Develop and update comprehensive training curriculum for all field operations, Quality Department Staff, and Subcontractors.
- Stay abreast of trends and evolving best practices by participating in organizations and forums dedicated to Quality.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or Quality Management from an accredited institution and 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control on NYC construction projects exceeding $150 million in value.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of New York.
- Must have 5+ years of recent experience overseeing the inspection and materials testing of projects similar in scale or scope.
- Solid understanding of means and methods of construction.
- Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry.
- Working knowledge of national and State code and quality regulations/standards.
- Knowledge of construction, i.e., prints, plans, procedures, scheduling, and testing.
