Job Summary

The Lead Emergency Evaluator at Lifestream Behavioral Center is responsible for delivering behavioral healthcare services to individuals in crisis, assessing their needs, and determining the most appropriate level of care required. This role involves performing initial and preliminary assessments of clients entering our continuum of services, working collaboratively with other professionals, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct face-to-face assessments and crisis interventions with clients, utilizing excellent interviewing and communication skills.
  • Provide crisis intervention by telephone as needed, responding to calls for information and assistance.
  • Link clients to other programs within Lifestream or refer them to professionals outside our services when necessary.
  • Interact with clients, courts, agencies, law enforcement, and other professionals to effectively plan for client treatment.

Knowledge and Job Skills

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of the dynamics of individuals with psychiatric disorders and their treatment, as well as knowledge of legal and ethical issues in the treatment of psychiatric patients. Excellent interviewing and crisis intervention skills are essential, as well as good communication skills.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with individuals from multiple disciplines, and a cooperative attitude to problem-solving and conflict resolution. They will also be able to withstand high levels of stress, work at a fast pace under pressure, and endure potential verbally and physically aggressive clients.

Judgment/Decision Making

The Lead Emergency Evaluator will utilize established corporate policies and procedures in making decisions, using sound judgment to meet the responsibilities and perform the duties of the position.

Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field required, Master's in Human Services preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year behavioral healthcare experience and 1 year supervisory experience required.
